A single powdered extract of Liquorice - Glycyrrhiza glabra - for easy blending, part of the NDS® Herbal Simplex range.

The powdered extracts are concentrated and only a small amount of powder is needed daily. They generally mix well in water or juice and being alcohol-free, are very mild tasting. They can easily be taken by children, the elderly or by patients for whom alcohol is contraindicated.

The dosage of each herbal extract has been adjusted by the addition of small amounts of maltodextrin to produce a uniform dosing schedule. A typical dose of each extract is thus only 2.5ml, or one small measuring scoop, daily. This dosage schedule can of course be varied according to the individual prescription by the practitioner.

Powdered liquorice root is an effective expectorant, and has been used for this purpose since ancient times, especially in Ayurvedic medicine where it is also used in tooth powders and is known as Jastimadhu.
